How the Open Bulk Editor website, Windows app, and license service handle local settings, store access, purchases, and support data.
Last updated: July 13, 2026
Who this policy covers
This policy applies to the Open Bulk Editor website, desktop application, and first-party license service operated by Open Bulk Editor. Contact us at info@openbulkeditor.com.
Shopify data and desktop files
The desktop application connects directly from your computer to the Shopify Admin API. Store credentials, previews, templates, CSV mappings, backup journals, logs, and task history are stored locally in the application data folder. We do not operate a hosted catalog service that receives a copy of your Shopify product scan.
You control the computer and local files. You are responsible for device access, backups, deleting local data, and protecting any exported reports.
License service traffic
License activation and validation send the license credentials needed for the request, a device identifier or protected derivative, a device label, application information, and request metadata to the license service. The service keeps license status, activation status, transfer state, and audit records needed to enforce the license.
Website information
The website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors find and use its public pages. The hosting provider may also process IP address, user agent, request URL, timestamp, and security logs to deliver and protect the site.
Analytics and cookies
Google Analytics 4 loads only after you select Accept analytics in the cookie choices. If accepted, it may collect page URLs, referral source, approximate location, browser and device information, and interactions such as page views, outbound-link clicks, and file downloads. It may use first-party identifiers such as the _ga cookie. If you reject analytics, the Google Analytics script is not loaded. We use analytics reports to improve the website and its documentation. We do not send Shopify store credentials, catalog data, desktop files, license keys, or support messages to Google Analytics. See the Google Privacy Policy for information about how Google processes data. Essential local storage may still be used for your cookie choice, theme preference, and basic site operation.
Support messages
If you email us, we process your address, message, and attachments to answer the request. Do not send Shopify tokens, client secrets, activation tokens, full license keys, customer records, product exports, or backup journals.
Retention
Local application data remains on your computer until you delete it. License and support records are retained for operations, fraud prevention, dispute handling, and legal obligations, then deleted or anonymized when they are no longer needed.
Sharing
We may use service providers for hosting, email, payments, analytics, and security. They receive only the information needed to provide their service. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect users, the service, or our rights.
Your choices
You can delete saved stores and local application files, reopen Cookie choices in the website footer, reject analytics, block or delete website cookies through your browser, use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, and contact us about personal information held by the license or support systems. Rights vary by location.
Security and changes
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no system is completely secure. We may update this policy as the product, providers, or legal requirements change. Material updates will be posted on this page.
